Looking to learn? Looking to play? Looking to work? Jobs available!
Studio42 is always looking for people who are hard workers and want to work hard. Want to learn how to run an event? Want to learn what it takes to operate a professional audio system? Well, then read on and see if you would like to join the team.
Qualifying personel will have unique access to our equipment and engineer, making available options you never had before and at much better rates than available to the general public. You're working with a top engineer with a professional sound system, not a weekend warrior who can get things loud.
Crew
No event is complete without a hard-working crew. It is the crew that makes the whole event happen. The crew gets there first, sets up everything does all of the real work, tears it all down after the event and is the last to leave. There is no glamour, there is no being in the spotlight, but there is a greater satisfaction knowing that if it wasn't for your efforts, nothing would happen. If it wasn't for the crew, nobody would hear the band and there would be no event.
Crew members are expected to be quick learners and be able to work unsupervised as much as possible. Crew members must be able to take and follow instructions. Crew members are expected to promptly get things taken care of when asked. Questions are always a good thing, if you don't know, then ask, there's no shame in that. Experienced crew members should take incentive to get tasks accomplished without being told and help get other things taken care of that may be falling behind. Crew members are expected to have multiple skills although can specialize in certain aspects of system set-up. Crew members should know what the different cables and connectors are called, understand basic signal flow, know how to set-up lights and how to configure the stage and FOH/Main and monitor speaker settings. There are diagrams for most issues, and everything else is well labeled. Crew members should become familiar with parts and equipment we use as well as suitable placement of such equipment. The job does require moderate to heavy lifting, but we do strongly advocate that 2 or more people lift anything, so don't be a hero. A willingness to learn is a must and training will be provided as much as possible. Crew members must be professional and reliable.
Crew members must be over 18, over 21 prefered, and be able to provide or arrange their own transportation to and from the event and be there when the sound company arrives and can stay until the sound company leaves. Since 95% of the work is in Sacramento, you must live in the Sacramento area to even be considered.
We do realize that some crew members may have equipment that they feel may be useful to Studio42. We do appreciate those thoughts, but we cannot and will not rely on outside equipment. We are willing to try out additional gear and hear any recommendations. If it appears something we need, we will buy it and install it into our system. Leave your gear at home, everything we need is already here. Join the team, work hard, learn a lot and enjoy yourself is all we require of our crew.
If you are interested, please call Studio42 to arrange for an interview, or fill in this form. The ability to play an instrument is a bonus. We do allow band members to be crew and crew members to be in the band.
